Is my image uploaded anywhere?
No — resizing, compressing and converting all happen entirely in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device.
Does this work with animated GIFs?
You can upload one, but the output is always a single still image — browsers can't re-encode an animated result this way, so only one frame is captured.
Why did my transparent PNG get a white background when converted to JPEG?
JPEG doesn't support transparency at all, so any transparent areas are filled white when converting to JPEG. To keep transparency, convert to PNG or WebP instead.
