Frequently asked questions
What size is a passport photo?
It depends on the country. 35 × 45 mm is used by the UK, Schengen countries, Australia and most ID cards. The US and India passport applications use 2 × 2 inch (51 × 51 mm). This tool has these and other common sizes, and a custom option for anything else. Always confirm the size on the official form.
How do I get several photos on one sheet to print?
Pick a paper size and the number of copies, then download the print sheet. It is a 300 DPI image with thin cutting guides. Print it at actual size (100%) on photo paper at home or take the file to a print shop.
Can it keep the photo under 50 KB for an online form?
Yes. Tick the size limit box and enter the maximum in KB. The tool lowers the JPG quality just enough to fit while keeping the exact pixel size. For forms that ask for an exact size in pixels, choose Custom size and set the unit to pixels.
Does it change my background to white?
No. It does not cut you out of the picture. The background colour only fills empty space if you zoom out. Take your photo against a plain, light wall for the best result.
Is my photo uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens in your browser, so your photo never leaves your device.
