What's the difference between "Total Days" and the Years/Months/Days breakdown?
Both describe the same span, just in different units — Total Days is the plain day count between your two dates, while Years/Months/Days breaks that same span into a calendar-style duration. They're computed from one shared date range, so the two results will never disagree with each other.
Should I include or exclude the start and end dates?
It depends on what you're counting toward — for example, under Section 12 of the Limitation Act, the day an order is passed is sometimes excluded from a limitation period. Use the two checkboxes to match whichever counting rule applies to your situation; both results recompute instantly either way.
What happens if I enter the end date before the start date?
The calculator automatically swaps the two dates and shows a note confirming the swap, so you always get a positive duration regardless of which date you typed first.
